Mayweather Jr. passes on new
opportunity to assail Pacquiao
While Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Miguel Cotto sat on golden thrones behind him at the famed Chinese Theatre, promoter Richard Schaefer gleefully noted that the first film played at the Hollywood landmark in 1927 was "King of Kings," Cecil B. DeMille's silent Biblical epic.
Mayweather hardly needed another reason to think he is God's gift to boxing, yet the unbeaten five-division champion stayed mostly silent Thursday about his only real rival for that throne atop the sport.
Mayweather and Cotto promoted their May 5 bout at the 85-year-old film landmark just a short walk from the Wild Card Gym in California where Manny Pacquiao trains under Freddie Roach. Mayweather (42-0, 26 knockouts) promised an action-packed fight in what's likely to be his toughest test in a half-decade.
"My job is not to worry about other fighters," Mayweather said of Pacquiao. "My job is to fight the guy in front of me."
Mayweather and Cotto (37-2, 30 KOs) will fight at the MGM Grand Garden.

Sexual assault case against
ex-Broncos DB Cox goes to jury
Jurors in the sexual assault trial of former Denver Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox saw video of him expressing shock that the alleged victim was pregnant and that he was accused of raping her.
Cox is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in his Castle Rocko, Colo., apartment over Labor Day weekend 2010. Both the prosecution and defense rested their cases, and the jury began deliberations after closing arguments.
In the portion of a videotaped interview that detectives did with Cox the night he was arrested, police department Detective Steve Hipp informs Cox that his DNA indicates he impregnated the woman. Cox then sits back and says, "Are you serious?"
"I never raped nobody," Cox told the detective as both talked in a loud voice. "I'm losing it because, seriously, I never touched this girl."
The interview ends with Cox asking: "I'm going to jail? You're kidding me. What am I supposed to do? I didn't."
Later, Hipp testified that he took Cox to a holding cell where Cox later asked him, "What if she jumped on me when I was passed out?"
Also: Prosecutors claim Jerry Sandusky sexually abused boys ranging in age from 8 to 17, eight of whom were molested on the Penn State campus, according to a document with new details about the case.
The Pennsylvania attorney general's office said in the document filed in Harrisburg that crimes involving one of the 10 alleged victims took place in Florida and Texas, while another boy was abused at his own school.
Prosecutors were more specific about the ages of the boys than in earlier reports, but much of the information is similar to details revealed in grand jury presentments issued last year that formed the basis for 52 charges against the 66-year-old former Penn State assistant football coach.
