NFL suspends Chiefs' Johnson for one game

Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson was suspended for Week 10 of the NFL season by commissioner Roger Goodell for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

Johnson was deactivated the last two weeks by Kansas City and also won't play Sunday against Tampa Bay. He will miss the Chiefs' game at San Diego on Nov. 9 under the NFL's suspension.

The suspension will cost Johnson about $147,000.

Witten hasn't practiced this week, but the team listed him as questionable for Sunday's road game.

The Green Bay Packers signed quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a contract extension through 2014. Terms were not disclosed.

Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl defensive end Patrick Kerney is out indefinitely and will have his surgically repaired shoulder examined.

Coach Mike Holmgren said Kerney is returning to Alabama to see Dr. James Andrews, who repaired torn labrum cartilage in Kerney's left shoulder after last season. Kerney re-injured the shoulder Sunday during a victory at San Francisco.

Jim Mora, an assistant coach with the Seahawks who will become the team's head coach next year, said he is not interested in the coaching job at the University of Washington, which fired coach Tyrone Willingham on Monday. Mora is a former Huskies linebacker and was a graduate assistant at the school.
