Kim, Reavie share lead in Canadian Open

Anthony Kim made nine birdies and an eagle in 21 holes Saturday in the Canadian Open for a share of the lead with Chez Reavie during the suspended third round at rain-softened Glen Abbey in Oakville, Ontario.

Kim, tied for 26th at 4 under par through 15 holes when second-round play was suspended Friday night, went birdie-birdie-eagle Saturday morning for a 2-under 69, then added a bogey-free 64 in the third round to match Reavie at 15 under.

Reavie was 2 under through 16 holes when darkness ended play on the course saturated by more than 8 inches of rain in a week.

Also: Angela Park birdied the final three holes for a 4-under 68 to keep a one-shot lead after the third round of the Evian Masters in Evian-Les-Bains, France.

The 50-year-old Cook, who was runner-up to Nick Faldo at the British Open at Muirfield 16 years ago, goes into today's final round at 6-under 207, leading Vaughan by one shot as he chases his first major on the Seniors tour.

Lundberg, who shared the overnight lead with fellow Swede Jarmo Sandelin, has a 17-under 199 total.

Morgan Hamm to learn his punishment Monday

The International Gymnastics Federation made no decision on the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency's punishment concerning gymnast Morgan Hamm.

USA Gymnastics president Steve Penny said he expected an announcement Monday.

USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee had already said that the warning would not affect Hamm's spot on the team for the Beijing Games.

USADA announced on July 3 that Hamm had been warned for a May 24 positive test for glucocorticosteroid, a cortisonelike anti-inflammatory. The drug is allowed if an athlete gets a therapeutic-use exemption, but Hamm had failed to do that.

Also: David Boudia and Thomas Finchum scored a career-high 464.04 points to win the 10-meter synchronized platform title at the U.S. national diving championships in Pasadena, Calif., in their final meet before the Beijing Olympics.

Boudia and Finchum earned three 10s and received at least one 9.0 on all six of their dives.

The U.S. Olympic Committee has opened an inquiry into allegations of abuse by a high-ranking USA Judo official.

An independent counsel will investigate the accusations against Fletcher Thornton.

The New York Times reported that in sworn affidavits signed in 1981, several young athletes accused Thornton of drugging and sexually molesting teenage competitors he coached in the late 1970s.
