Bloodied Landis finishes second in Colorado race
Floyd Landis took second in a mountain bike race in Leadville, Colo., on Saturday despite a crash that left last year's disgraced Tour de France cycling champion with a bloody right leg.
Landis, unable to defend his 2006 Tour title because of a positive drug test, was runner-up to five-time winner Dave Wiens in the Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race.
Landis, riding on a surgically repaired hip, had scrapes on his elbows and forearms and bandages on three fingers. His leg was wrapped in blood-soaked gauze from just above his knee to his hip.
He said he went down about an hour into the 100-mile race while going downhill. Landis began his career in mountain biking.
Landis finished in 7 hours, 30 seconds. Wiens was timed in 6:58.47.

Injured Beckham may sit against Revolution
David Beckham might be returning to the bench just three days after making his Major League Soccer debut.
Beckham aggravated his injured left ankle earlier this week and will be a game-time decision when the Los Angeles Galaxy plays the New England Revolution today in Foxborough, Mass.
"My ankle flared up a bit after the game the other day, and it's swollen up a little bit from flying," Beckham said. "We'll have to see how it is. It was fine running out there a little bit, but that's all I really tried on the field."

'Pacman' can appear at wrestling event
Adam "Pacman" Jones can appear at a wrestling show today in Nashville, Tenn., with provisions: The suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback won't be allowed to touch or be touched, use or be hit by any object or anything else that could injure him.
But at least Jones can be in the building for the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling pay-per-view event. The arrangement was approved by a Tennessee judge following an agreement among the Titans, Jones' attorney and lawyers for TNA Entertainment.
The Titans received a temporary restraining order Friday that prohibited Jones -- suspended from the NFL for the 2007 season for violating the personal conduct policy -- from even being present at a TNA event.

In the co-main event, Filipino veteran Gerry Penalosa upset Jhonny Gonzalez with a seventh-round knockout on a perfect liver punch to claim the WBO 118-pound title.
Amanda Blumenherst made short work of defending champion Kimberly Kim in the semifinals of the U.S. Women's Amateur golf tournament in Carmel, Ind., beating the 15-year-old, 5 and 3.
Blumenherst advanced to today's 36-hole final round at Crooked Stick Golf Club against Maria Jose Uribe of Colombia, who beat Ha Na Jang of South Korea 2 and 1 in the other semifinal.
The Phoenix Coyotes sent center Kevyn Adams to the Chicago Blackhawks for right winger Radim Vrbata.
The 26-year-old Vrbata was the Blackhawks' second-leading scorer last season and set career highs in points (41) and assists (27).
The 32-year-old Adams was acquired in January from the Hurricanes and played 33 games with Phoenix last season.
