Interception returns propel Mojave rout

Ty Flanagan, Marcus Hines and Lorenzo Guerrero each returned an interception for a touchdown as Mojave posted a 59-15 victory over visiting Western on Thursday night.

The Rattlers (4-2) scored four touchdowns in a first-quarter span of 5 minutes, 22 seconds to build a 25-0 lead and coasted from there, forcing 10 turnovers by the Warriors (1-5).

Flanagan, who started the scoring with a 48-yard TD run, returned an interception 33 yards for a score. Hines added a 62-yard return for a touchdown, and Deandre Armstrong capped the four-TD spurt with a 55-yard run.

Tyreek Carter had a 27-yard TD run in the second quarter for Mojave. Flanagan added scoring runs of 53 and 34 yards, and Hines ran for a 42-yard touchdown in the second half. Guerrero returned a tipped pass 48 yards for a score in the fourth quarter.

Larry Jennings ran for a 3-yard touchdown and threw a 7-yard scoring pass to Vadell Wilson to lead Western.
