INTERNET ONLY: CANYON SPRINGS TOPS RANCHO IN BOYS SOCCER

Miguel Durado and Jose Martinez scored one goal each to help Canyon Springs defeat visiting Rancho 2-1 in boys soccer Friday.

Frank Gonzalez scored for the Rams.

At Sierra Vista, Jason Mazzeo scored one goal for Spring Valley, and Igor Pavlovic tallied one goal for the Lions in a 1-1 tie.

At Clark, Howard Morales, Francisco Chavez and Angelo Soro each had a goal and an assist as the Chargers shut out Durango 4-0.

Javier Solis added a goal, and goalkeeper Omar Magana earned the shutout.

At Chaparral, Andjelko Markovic scored once in Valley's 2-0 victory over the Cowboys.

The Vikings also benefitted by an own goal by Chaparral. Goalkeeper Pedro Arias earned the shutout.

At Desert Pines, Rene Ardon scored three goals as Eldorado shut out the Jaguars 6-0.

Josh Cormier, Noe Mejia and Jose Rodriguez each added a goal for the Sundevils.

Goalkeeper Alberto Alvarez earned the shutout.

GIRLS

At Camp Verde (Ariz.), Audrey Swanson and Hannah Stevens each scored one goal as Faith Lutheran won its first of two games of the Camp Verde Tournament, 2-1 over Blue Ridge (Ariz.).

In the second game, Sydney Spoon and Sasha Vancura each had a goal as Faith Lutheran shut out River Valley (Ariz.) 2-0.

Spoon and Carter both had an assist for the Crusaders.

Goalkeeper Marissa Fehrman, who made 10 saves, earned the shutout.
