■ SERIES NOTES: Iowa is 5-23 since the All-Star break and tied with Memphis for the fewest wins in full-season minor league baseball. ... Iowa featured two of Chicago's top prospects, according to Baseball America, in outfielder Brett Jackson (No. 1) and third baseman Josh Vitters (No. 9), before they were called up Sunday by the Cubs. ... The 51s also will host the defending Pacific Coast League champion Omaha Storm Chasers, Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, from Tuesday through Aug. 17. ... Omaha (69-50) features three of Kansas City's top 10 prospects in outfielder Wil Myers (No. 3), right-handed pitcher Jake Odorizzi (No. 4) and left-handed pitcher Chris Dwyer (No. 9). The 21-year-old Myers is batting .293 with 20 home runs and 63 RBIs. ... Second baseman Johnny Giavotella is batting a team-leading .327 for the Storm Chasers. ... Las Vegas trails PCL-leading Sacramento (72-47) by 5½ games in the Pacific South with 25 games to play. The 51s were a half-game back on July 24 but since have lost nine of 15. ... Las Vegas leads the league in batting with a .304 average, but five of its top hitters are in Toronto: Yan Gomes, David Cooper, Adeiny Hechavarria, Anthony Gose and Moises Sierra. Outfielder Ricardo Nanita leads active 51s players in batting, with a .313 average, and outfielder Danny Perales is hitting .306. First baseman Mike McDade, a Silverado High School product, is batting .278 (10-for-36) with one home run and eight RBIs in nine games for Las Vegas.
