Kemp carries Wolf Pack to home win

RENO -- Marcelus Kemp scored 23 points to lead UNR past Montana State 82-76 on Saturday night.
Demarshay Johnson added 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds as the Wolf Pack (3-4) ended its three-game losing streak.
Carlos Taylor scored 23 points to lead Montana State (4-4), which saw its two-game winning streak end.
Kemp moved into third place on UNR's all-time list for 3-pointers with 171. Kemp also moved into eighth on the Wolf Pack's career scoring list with 1,414 points.
Montana State went on a 10-0 run in the first four minutes of the second half to take its first lead, 43-41. The Bobcats led by two on four occasions, the last at 52-50 with 11:45 left.
A 3-pointer and a runner in the lane by Kemp gave UNR a 69-64 lead with 3:38 to go.
UNR scored its final nine points from the free-throw line in the final 55 seconds.
The Wolf Pack led by as much as 11 in the first half as David Ellis hit a jumper with two minutes to go for a 38-27 lead. The Bobcats scored the last five points of the half, capped by a 3-pointer at the buzzer by Taylor, who had 14 points by halftime.
UNR had a 39-33 lead at halftime behind Kemp's 14 points.
