Las Vegan Pochiro taken in NHL Draft

Las Vegan Zach Pochiro was drafted in the fourth round of Sunday’s NHL Draft — the 112th pick overall — by the St. Louis Blues.

Pochiro, 19, has lived in Las Vegas since he was 1 year old. The 6-foot-1-inch, 161-pounder had 15 goals, 24 assists and a team-leading 105 penalty minutes in 65 games this season for Prince George of the Western Hockey League. He was named the Cougars’ rookie of the year.

Pochiro attended Cimarron- Memorial High School and Word of Life Christian Academy in Las Vegas.
