Locals help replenish CSN baseball roster

With a sophomore-laden roster, the College of Southern Nevada baseball team will have plenty of holes next season. Coach Tim Chambers thinks he took a big step toward filling them with the 16-player 2008-09 recruiting class he announced Tuesday.

The class includes 10 local players, led by 2007 all-state outfielder Jordan Keegan from Silverado High School.

"It's a big rollover year for us," Chambers said. "We think we got what we needed out of town locally, and we'll wait until the end of the season to fill some holes."

Along with Keegan, the Coyotes signed pitchers Chasen Shreve (Bonanza), Justin Rainville (Silverado) and Corey Ginther (Coronado); outfielders Tim Arthur (Coronado), Cameron Brooks (Spring Valley) and Andrew Gans (Coronado); and infielders Tomo Delp (Bonanza), Trevor Kirk (Silverado) and Marvin Campbell (Las Vegas).

Three other local players -- Green Valley outfielder Kevin Stethem, Palo Verde infielder Jordan Pierce and Faith Lutheran pitcher Tyler Iodence -- have orally committed to play for CSN.
