Maza, Jones power 51s past Rainiers
Luis Maza and Mitch Jones helped the 51s beat the Tacoma Rainiers 8-6 on Tuesday in a Pacific Coast League game in Tacoma, Wash.
Maza finished 4-for-5 with two RBIs, and Jones' seventh-inning double scored Matt Kemp to snap a 6-6 tie.
Maza had a two-run double in a four-run second inning.
James Loney went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the 51s (21-23).
Las Vegas reliever Casey Hoorelbeke (1-1) got the win, and Yhency Brazoban worked the last 1 2/3 innings to get the save.
In the top of the eighth, Kemp caught Rob Johnson's fly ball to right, then threw Jon Nelson out at the plate to end the inning.
