McGee, UNR overwhelm Louisiana Tech

RENO -- JaVale McGee scored a game-high 26 points Saturday night to lead UNR to an 87-57 romp over Louisiana Tech in a Western Athletic Conference basketball game.

McGee knocked down 12 of 14 shots and helped the Wolf Pack finish the game shooting 66 percent from the field. UNR also had a huge edge on the boards, outrebounding the Bulldogs 37-19.

Louisiana Tech was just 20-of-55 (36.4 percent) from the field.

UNR never trailed after the opening three minutes and improved to 19-10 overall and 11-4 in WAC play. The win was Wolf Pack coach Mark Fox's 100th career victory.

Louisiana Tech (4-23, 1-13 WAC) never got closer than 16 points after halftime. That came after a driving layup by Dwayne Lathan made the score 47-31 with 16:29 to go in the second half.

Kyle Gibson lead Louisiana Tech with 19 points.
