Added incentive drives KB Racing duo

Greg Anderson and Jason Line always come to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on a mission.

The KB Racing Pro Stock drivers want to win regardless of which NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event they are competing in, but their sponsor also sponsors the SummitRacing.com Nationals, which run today through Sunday at the speedway.

Anderson and Line have a more personal mission this weekend.

The owner of their two-car team, Las Vegan Ken Black Sr., is recovering from a major stroke suffered late last year.

"There is no doubt that we have a lot on the line this weekend," said Anderson, who has won at Las Vegas six times. "From Summit sponsoring the event, with many of the people from the main office in Ohio coming out to watch us in person, to racing in front of Ken, (his wife) Judy and the entire Black family for the first time in 2010, we have plenty of reasons for wanting to win," he said. "We are going to this race to win."

Anderson, a three-time series champion, last won at the track in 2007, when he claimed both the spring and fall titles. Line, who won the NHRA Gatornationals on March 14, won the Las Vegas spring event in 2008.

■ BERNSTEIN FLYING BLUE -- Fans of Kenny Bernstein Racing and driver Brandon Bernstein shouldn't look for the team's traditional red car. The team's Top Fuel dragster is now blue with new sponsor Copart's colors, but this weekend the primary image on it will belong to the U.S. Air Force, which is an associate sponsor for the team this year.

■ SCHUMACHER DRIVERS SIGNING -- Don Schumacher Racing drivers will sign autographs at a free two-hour session at New York-New York tonight beginning at 7:30.

Tony Schumacher, Cory McClenathan, Antron Brown, Ron Capps, Jack Beckman and Matt Hagan are scheduled to attend.
