Nine-run inning powers 51s’ win

Danny Perales' bases-clearing double highlighted a nine-run fifth inning that propelled the 51s to a 13-5 victory over the Sacramento River Cats in a Pacific Coast League game Monday night in West Sacramento, Calif.

Adam Calderone hit a leadoff single and a two-run triple in the fifth, when Las Vegas (53-57) sent 13 men to the plate. He scored twice in the inning.

Staked to a 12-0 lead after 4½ innings, 51s starter Brad Mills (8-4) pitched seven strong innings.

Mills ran into trouble in the bottom of the fifth, giving up four runs on four hits and a walk, but otherwise shut out Sacramento (60-50) on two hits and a walk. He finished with four strikeouts.

J.P. Arencibia hit his 31st home run, a solo shot in the third inning.
