No. 1 Findlay Prep takes first loss of the season

Wayne (Ohio) limited Findlay Prep to one basket in overtime as the Warriors knocked off the Pilots 76-68 on Monday in the Flyin’ To The Hoop Classic in Dayton, Ohio.

It was the first loss of the season for the Pilots (17-1), who are ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today.

Findlay’s only basket in overtime came when Derryck Thornton completed a three-point play to cut the lead to 69-68 with 2:05 to go. The Pilots wouldn’t score again.

Trey Landers had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead Wayne, which got 18 points from Rodrick Caldwell.

Thornton scored 19 to pace Findlay.
