WACO, Texas -- A.J. Abrams scored 19 points while matching the Big 12 career record for 3-pointers as No. 11 Texas won its 23rd consecutive game against Baylor, 78-72 on Tuesday.
After LaceDarius Dunn hit two free throws to get the Bears (15-5, 3-3 Big 12) within a basket, Abrams dribbled inside the 3-point line with about a minute to play and hit a jumper.
The Longhorns (15-4, 4-1) are 23-0 against Baylor in their 11 seasons under coach Rick Barnes. The Bears' last win in the series came in 1998.
Abrams matched the Big 12 record with his 338th career 3-pointer, his third of the game coming 14:35 in. He didn't make another one, leaving him tied with Jeff Boschee, who played at Kansas from 1999 to 2002.
The game was tied 13 times. The final lead change came when Gary Johnson was credited with a basket when Kevin Rogers was called for goaltending with 4:20 left to make the score 64-62. Dogus Balbay had a breakaway layup on the next possession after a Baylor miss.
• No. 16 Purdue 64, Wisconsin 63 -- At Madison, Wis., Robbie Hummel's go-ahead 3-pointer with a minute left sent the Boilermakers (16-4, 5-2 Big Ten) past the free-falling Badgers (12-8, 3-5).
It was Purdue's fifth straight win and Wisconsin's fifth straight loss.
Keaton Nankivil scored a career-high 21 points, keeping the Badgers in contention with five 3-pointers.
• Mississippi 85, No. 24 Kentucky 80 -- At Oxford, Miss., Terrico White and David Huertas each scored 21 points as the Rebels (11-9, 2-4 Southeastern Conference) knocked off the Wildcats (16-5, 5-1), snapping Kentucky's five-game winning streak a day after it entered the Top 25 for the first time this season.
The Wildcats were fourth in the nation in shooting at 50.2 percent per game but struggled against Ole Miss' 2-3 zone and shot 34.3 percent (25-for-65).
