■ WINNING/LOSING PITCHER: Storm Chasers, Justin Marks (1-2); 51s, D.J. Mitchell (1-1)
■ HIGHLIGHTS: At Omaha, Neb., the 51s (18-20) scored a run and loaded the bases in the ninth inning, but Kirk Nieuwenhuis struck out swinging to end the game. Las Vegas trailed 5-3 entering the inning before Andrew Brown led off with a triple, then scored on a groundout. ... The 51s left 15 runners on base. In addition to the ninth, they also left the bases full in the second when Nieuwenhuis, who went 1-for-6, grounded out. ... Brown, who went 2-for-4 and scored two runs, has hit in 13 consecutive games. ... This was the first of a four-game series against Omaha (20-18). The 51s then will stay in the Midwest to play a four-game set at Des Moines, Iowa.
