Palo Verde golfer Bauman advances at U.S. Junior Amateur

Palo Verde High School golfer Brandon Bauman hung on in the second round of stroke play at the U.S. Junior Amateur in Stratham, N.H., making the cut to advance to match play.

After shooting even-par 72 on Monday to stand tied for eighth, Bauman shot 7-over 79 on Tuesday for a 7-over 151 total to tie for 49th, two strokes under the cutline. The top 64 players will begin match play today, and the tournament concludes with a 36-hole final Saturday.
