Perales’ slam helps 51s down Padres

Danny Perales hit a grand slam for his first home run of the season, helping the 51s overcome an early six-run deficit in their 13-8 Pacific Coast League win over the Tucson Padres on Thursday in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Perales' hit got Las Vegas (47-44) within 6-4 in the fourth inning, and Adam Loewen hit a two-run shot in the fifth for the 51s, who had a 16-11 edge in hits.

With the score tied at 8, Las Vegas used Loewen's two-run single and three bases-loaded walks to score five runs in the eighth inning.

Kyle Drabek started for the 51s and gave up five earned runs in three innings. Winston Abreu (6-4) worked a scoreless seventh to get the victory.
