Pinango pitches 51s to victory in series finale at Tucson

Miguel Pinango allowed one run in 6 1/3 innings Sunday night to help lift the 51s to a 2-1 victory over the Tucson Sidewinders in a Pacific Coast League game in Tucson, Ariz.
Marshall McDougall went 2-for-4 with a double for Las Vegas (39-51). His RBI single broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning as the 51s halted a four-game losing streak.
Pinango (4-4) held the Sidewinders (47-42) to nine hits and three walks. The right-hander struck out three.
Las Vegas reliever Casey Hoorelbeke worked 1 2/3 hitless innings, and Eric Hull pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save.
Tucson starter Casey Daigle allowed one run on four hits before being knocked out of the game when he was struck in the face with a thrown ball while backing up the plate with one out in the second inning.
Dustin Glant (0-1) came on and allowed one run on four hits over three innings.
Chris Carter went 3-for-4, and Brian Barden hit an RBI double in the third for Tucson.
The 51s are off until Thursday, when they open a home series against Salt Lake at 7:11 p.m.
