Quintanilla powers 51s past Colorado Springs, 9-3

Omar Quintanilla had three hits and drove in five runs to help the 51s to a 9-3 Pacific Coast League victory at Colorado Springs on Tuesday night.

Quintanilla hit a three-run homer in the second inning and scored after a leadoff triple in the fourth. Las Vegas (37-28) built its lead to 9-0 in the seventh inning.

51s starter Giancarlo Alvarado (2-2) held the Sky Sox (28-36) scoreless until the seventh and allowed two runs on two hits and struck out five in six innings.

Zach Lutz, Travis d’Arnaud and Josh Satin each had two hits for Las Vegas.

The third game of a four-game series is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. today.
