Richmond’s stellar pitching, balanced offense power 51s past Bees

Scott Richmond pitched eight shutout innings and was backed by 15 hits Saturday in the 51s' 9-0 rout of the host Salt Lake Bees in a Pacific Coast League game.

Richmond (4-3), who entered with an ERA of 6.39, gave up three hits to the first six batters he faced and then none the rest of the way. He struck out four and walked two, and Jerry Gil worked the ninth to cap the four-hitter.

Chris Woodward went 3-for-5, and Anthony Gose, Adam Lind, Travis d'Arnaud, Ricardo Nanita and Danny Perales had two hits each for Las Vegas (26-23), which went 7-for-16 with runners in scoring position. Eric Hurley (4-4) gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings for Salt Lake (25-25).
