River Cats slam Drabek, 51s 13-1
Wes Timmons hit a grand slam and had six RBIs, and the Sacramento River Cats rocked 51s starter Kyle Drabek in a 13-1 victory in the Pacific Coast League on Monday at West Sacramento, Calif.
Drabek (4-4) allowed nine runs, all earned, on eight hits in a three-inning stint. He also allowed a solo homer in the first inning to Chris Carter, a Las Vegas native who played at Sierra Vista High.
Sacramento's Carlos Hernandez (8-7) struck out six, walked none and allowed an unearned run in eight innings. Chris Woodward had two of the 51s' four hits.
The game opened a four-game series that continues at 7 p.m. today.
