Robinson, Long Beach State saddle Boise State with first loss of season

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- T.J. Robinson had 18 points and 13 rebounds Tuesday, and Long Beach State beat Boise State, 72-62.

James Ennis contributed 16 points and six assists, and Eugene Phelps added 11 points as the 49ers (3-1) bounced back from a loss to San Diego State on Saturday. Long Beach State won at No. 17 Pittsburgh last week.

The 49ers led by 23 points with five minutes to go before Boise State closed the game on a 17-4 run.

Freshman Anthony Drmic led the Broncos (3-1) with 20 points. Kenny Buckner scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half for the Broncos, whose only lead was after the game's first basket.

n Colorado State 91, Manhattan 86 ---- At Fort Collins, Colo., Wes Eikmeier scored six of his 23 points in overtime as the Rams (4-2) beat the Jaspers in a consolation game of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

Eikmeier made 11 of his 12 free-throw attempts. Dorian Green added 17 points for Colorado State.

Michael Alvarado led Manhattan (3-2) with 22 points, including a buzzer-beating 3-pointer that forced overtime. Roberto Colonette had 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Jaspers.

n Wyoming 67, South Dakota 56 ---- At Laramie, Wyo., Leonard Washington scored 18 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked four shots to lead the Cowboys (3-1) over the Coyotes (1-3).
