Second-period spurt lifts Wranglers

Blair Riley, Ryan Huddy and Matt Price scored during the final six minutes of the second period, sparking the Wranglers to a 4-1 victory over the Victoria Salmon Kings on Friday at Victoria, British Columbia.

Las Vegas leads the ECHL Western Conference and Pacific Division with 55 points (26-11-3).

Kevin Schaeffer scored in the first period, and the Wranglers' three-goal flurry -- all at even strength -- made it 4-0. Tyler Mosienko had two assists.

Las Vegas goaltender Joe Fallon made 24 saves, allowing only Rick Cleaver's goal on a third-period power play.

The Wranglers went 0-for-11 on power plays, Victoria 1-for-5.

The teams play the second game of a three-game series at 7:05 p.m. today.
