Evan MacLane pitched seven strong innings and had an RBI single Thursday night to lead the Tucson Sidewinders to a 4-1 Pacific Coast League win over the 51s in Tucson, Ariz.
MacLane (2-4), a left-hander, limited Las Vegas (28-26) to one run on four hits and one walk. He struck out three. Leo Rosales pitched two shutout innings for his sixth save.
The Sidewinders (19-36) got all the runs they needed in the fifth inning on Jamie D'Antona's two-out, two-run single. D'Antona, who finished 2-for-4 with a double, raised his batting average to .407 -- second best in the PCL this season behind the 51s' Terry Tiffee, who was batting .422 when the Los Angeles Dodgers promoted him Saturday.
Las Vegas got within 2-1 in the sixth when Wilkin Ruan led off with a triple and scored on Angel Chavez's ground-out.
MacLane's RBI single came in the sixth after Wilkin Castillo and Jesus Merchan singled and Phil Avlas walked. Another run scored that inning on a wild pitch.
Ruan, Merchan and Avlas each finished with two hits.
Eric Stults (3-6) took the loss after giving up four runs on eight hits and four walks in six innings. He struck out two.
