The list was impeccably prepared, because it seems as if Brad Stirling doesn’t do anything in a lackluster manner when it comes to UNLV basketball. The names were neatly written down the side of one page, all those Rebels players from the 1960s.
Hallelujah! After three weeks, the TrackNet blackout is over. As soon as today, we could be back betting and watching Santa Anita, and four other tracks, in the race books of Nevada.
The schedule was simple back then. Bracketing didn’t take much thought. There were two soccer teams in the local Catholic Youth Organization, and they played each other six straight weeks. That was the season. Six matches between Our Lady of Las Vegas and St. Francis De Sales.
You undoubtedly have heard this is one of those teaching moments, when we can educate youth about making better decisions in the wake of famous people doing bad things.
Low-hanging clouds and periods of heavy rain could not dampen the spirits of shooters who gathered Saturday at Desert Lakes Shooting Club in Boulder City for the second Las Vegas Sporting Clays Classic. Neither could the wind, which sometimes blew hard enough to carry huge raindrops into seemingly protected places where shooters and event volunteers sought shelter.
