Streaking 51s top RedHawks for seventh straight victory

The 51s scored all four of their runs in the first two innings, and five pitchers combined to scatter six hits in Las Vegas' 4-1 victory over the host Oklahoma City RedHawks on Tuesday in a Pacific Coast League game.

Las Vegas won its seventh straight game and is 11-1 in its past 12 outings.

Yan Gomes' two-out RBI single in the top of the first inning put the 51s up 1-0, and Las Vegas (17-16) added three runs with two outs in the second inning. Anthony Gose's triple scored Chris Woodward and Adeiny Hechavarria, and Gose then came around on Travis d'Arnaud's single to make it 4-0.

The Redhawks got a run back in the fourth when Fernando Martinez and Justin Ruggiano hit back-to-back doubles, but the 51s blanked Oklahoma City the rest of the way.

Robert Coello, who relieved starter Andrew Carpenter with two outs in the fourth inning, got the win after allowing one hit and two walks while striking out three in three innings.

Hechavarria, Gose and Ricardo Nanita each had two hits for the 51s.
