Sundevils’ Clark beats buzzer, Wildcats
Jamie Clark made a 12-foot shot just before the final buzzer Tuesday as visiting Eldorado rallied to defeat Las Vegas 52-51 in girls basketball.
Trailing by a point with 4.3 seconds remaining, Eldorado set up an inbounds play and found Clark for the open shot. The jumper capped a comeback by the Sundevils, who trailed 42-37 heading into the fourth.
Tonisha McGee, Princess Jervis and Sabrina Evans each scored 13 points for Eldorado. McGee had nine rebounds.
Maika Henderson led the Wildcats with 11 points, and Tia Matthews scored 10.
• Snow Canyon (Utah) 60, Silverado 31 -- At Silverado, Snow Canyon bolted to a 19-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.
Shea Collins topped Silverado with 19 points.
• Bonanza 57, Spring Valley 32 -- At Spring Valley, Christin Figgins and Laura Nelson each scored 11 points to lead the Bengals.
Jill Gentile scored 10 for Bonanza.
Cece Wimberly led Spring Valley with 14 points.
• Bishop Gorman 89, Western 24 -- At Western, the Gaels jumped to a 25-5 lead after one quarter and led 53-11 at halftime as they trounced the Warriors.
Dannielle Diamant and Ashlin Gross each scored 14 points to lead Gorman.
• Mojave 63, Chaparral 43 -- At Mojave, Chelsea Hopkins scored 28 points as the Rattlers defeated the Cowboys.
Janee Lee scored 11 for Mojave, and Clarissa Cannon pulled down 12 rebounds.
Amy Austin led Chaparral with 13 points.
• Desert Pines 51, Canyon Springs 29 -- At Desert Pines, Andrea Jefferson scored 11 points to help the Jaguars beat the Pioneers.
LeBrea Walker and Clarissa Davis each scored 10 for Desert Pines.
• Rancho 47, Valley 30 -- At Valley, Khalia Branch scored 17 points and Shayna Porter-Banks 16 as the Rams defeated the Vikings.
Vanessa Corona scored 13 for Valley.
• Tech 58, Faith Lutheran 45 -- At Tech, Mechel'la Logan scored 21 points as the Roadrunners downed the Crusaders.
Cheryl Harless scored 12 for Tech.
Seanie Petersen led the Crusaders with 18 points.
• Durango 56, Sierra Vista 48 -- At Sierra Vista, Lindy La Rocque scored 23 points to lead the Trailblazers.
Brea Foster led Sierra Vista with 14 points.
• Lake Mead 44, The Meadows 24 -- At The Meadows, Jenna Willis scored 23 to lift the Eagles past the Mustangs.
Bonnie McKnight had eight points and 10 rebounds for The Meadows.
