Truckee boys claim 3A state championship
Truckee (Calif.) shot a second-day 404 Wednesday at CasaBlanca Golf Club in Mesquite to win the Class 3A boys state golf championship.
The Wolverines finished six shots ahead of second-place Pahrump Valley, which also shot 404 to move up from third place.
Lowry, tied with Truckee after the first round at The Palms Golf Club, finished third at 854.
Truckee's leader was Daniel Gelso, who shot 160 to finish fifth individually.
Fernley's Brandon Dalton shot 2-over-par 74 on Wednesday to win the individual title with a 5-over 148 total.
Yerington's Vincent Arrighi, who shot 72, was second at 149, followed by Lowry's Joey Dendary at 151 and Pahrump's Cameron Belcher at 155. Belcher had the tournament's top round, carding a 71 on Wednesday.
