Two defensive ends commit to play football at UNLV

Two defensive ends committed to play football at UNLV, including junior college transfer Tuivasa Maloata, who will sign early and be eligible to compete in spring practices.

Maloata (6 feet 3 inches, 245), who played at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif., also received a scholarship offer from New Mexico State. He had planned to visit Utah State and Idaho in January.

“The players are like family,” Maloata said of the Rebels. “The main thing is there’s a great feeling out here. I love what they’re doing. I can come here and make an impact on the team.”

The Rebels also received a commitment from Joseph Salazar (6-3, 220), who attends Atascocita High School in Humble, Texas.
