Two home runs carry 51s

Mitch Jones hit a two-run homer and Angel Chavez added a solo shot for the decisive run as the 51s beat the Oklahoma RedHawks 5-4 in the Pacific Coast League on Friday at Oklahoma City.

Chavez's ninth homer in the sixth inning extended the 51s' lead to 5-3, and they weathered a late RedHawks uprising.

After falling behind 2-0, Las Vegas (61-53) scored twice in the third and fourth innings. Jones homered in the fourth with Xavier Paul on base.

Justin Orenduff (3-7) got the win, and Tanyon Sturtze pitched the ninth to gain his third save despite giving up a run on two walks and a hit.

Joaquin Arias and John Mayberry hit solo homers for Oklahoma (63-51).
