Texas quarterback commits to UNLV
When quarterback Cody Fajardo decided not to visit UNLV as planned this past weekend, another QB stepped in. Taylor Barnhill (6 feet 4 inches, 210 pounds) gave the Rebels his commitment today.
Barnhill, who attends Northwest High School in Justin, Texas, is a Rivals.com three-star recruit. He completed 46.8 percent of his passes for 847 yards with five touchdowns and seven interceptions on a team that went 0-10. The Rivals rating appears to be based on Barnhill's potential, taking into account the apparent lack of talent around him.
Also tight end Jordan Sparkman (6-5, 230) of Point Loma High in San Diego committed to UNLV. He is the second tight end to commit in the past four days.
