Three UNLV football games set for national TV, including ESPN

UNLV’s football team will make three national TV appearances, including its first home game on ESPN in nine years. The Rebels play Washington State, which was moved up a day to Friday, Sept. 14.

Their last ESPN appearance at Sam Boyd Stadium occurred Aug. 29, 2003, in a victory over Toledo.

UNLV opens next season at home against Minnesota on Thursday, Aug. 30, on CBS Sports Network. On Saturday, Oct. 20, the Rebels play at Boise State on NBC Sports Network.

An announcement on the remaining 10 games is expected within 10 days, athletic director Jim Livengood said. He said eight or nine of the season’s 13 games will be televised, and possibly as many as 10.

He said the remaining games will be regionally and locally broadcast.

"It's kind of to be determined," Livengood said. "I'm really optimistic at this point."

He said the national exposure will translate to men's basketball as well.
