Lady Rebels fall at Utah State, 85-72

Two big second-half runs carried the Utah State women’s basketball team past UNLV 85-72 in a Mountain West game Saturday in Logan, Utah.

Funda Nakkasoglu and Jasmine Porter scored 17 points apiece for the Aggies (6-13, 3-4), who gained control with a 15-3 spurt and then ended the game on a 24-10 run.

A putback by Aley Rohde with 5:39 left put the Lady Rebels (6-12, 3-4) ahead 62-61. But they were held to two field goals the rest of the way.

Danielle Miller scored 20 points, Rohde 15 and Alana Cesarz 11 for UNLV, which led by as many as 10 points in the first half and managed a 36-36 intermission tie. Ingrida Strikas had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Utah State, which shot 53.7 percent from the field.
