UNR snaps eight-game losing streak against Lady Rebels
Aja Johnson had a career-high 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the UNR women’s basketball team to a 71-62 win over UNLV in a Mountain West game Wednesday in Reno.
Senior center Mimi Mungedi blocked five shots, giving her a program-record 123 for her career with the Wolf Pack (6-7, 2-0), who halted an eight-game losing streak against the Lady Rebels (4-9, 1-1).
Alana Cesarz had 17 points, Danielle Miller 14 and Nikki Wheatley 13 for UNLV, which shot 28.6 percent, including an 0-for-12 showing on 3-pointers, in losing its seventh game in the past eight.
