Sophomore RB Randle making a push
August 17, 2011 - 6:39 pm
ELY — UNLV sophomore running back Bradley Randle has been given plenty of work the past two days, and he's made the most of his opportunities.
He showed his toughness in this morning practice, bowling over junior safety Dre Crawford to score a touchdown.
"It's just like any other sport, if they're seeing things clearly, the game seems to slow down," coach Bobby Hauck said. "He's seeing things really well right now, and he's hitting things downhill, and he's making the right cuts at the right time almost every play."
Randle is making a push behind fellow sophomore Tim Cornett, the returning starter.
“He can work his way to No. 1 if he keeps playing like he is,” Hauck said.
SPENCER RETURNS
Redshirt freshman wide receiver Taylor Spencer, who had a broken leg, was in full uniform today for the first time this training camp.
“He’d been back three days ago, but he pulled his hamstring,” Hauck said. “He did well today. He looked better, the best he’s looked in his time here.”
PLAYS OF THE DAY
— Sophomore wide receiver Marcus Sullivan took a reverse 63 yards for a touchdown. He also scored on a 38-yard passing play.
— Junior safety Kenny Brown intercepted a pass and broke up a deep throw to senior wide receiver Michael Johnson.
— Junior quarterback Sean Reilly completed a 21-yard touchdown pass to freshman wide receiver Devante Davis, who made a nice fake to get into the end zone.
