UNLV recruits

UNLV will sign two junior college cornerbacks when the early period begins Wednesday, meaning they will be eligible to go through spring practices.

Kenny Brown (5 feet 9 inches, 180 pounds) of College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif., also was recruited by Boise State and West Virginia. He will have four years to play three.

Warren Ziegler (6-1, 180) of College of San Mateo (Calif.) is a Rivals.com two-star recruit.

The Rebels, of course, hoped to include safety Jarrell Harrison on that list, but he committed to Missouri Tuesday afternoon. He is the rare UNLV visitor who got away. Of the 13 recruits who visited the past two weekends, 10 have committed to UNLV.

Harrison is the only one who has chosen another school as of Tuesday.

Defensive end B.J. Bell (6-4, 245) of Santa Ana (Calif.) College said he will wait until February before deciding, but has not lined up any other trips. He is a Rivals.com four-star recruit and the nation's No. 35 junior college player. His brothers, Zach and Beau, played linebacker at UNLV, and Beau Bell is a rookie with the Cleveland Browns.

Linebacker Jordan Barrett (6-2, 225) of Notre Dame High in Sherman Oaks, Calif., has not commented since his visit to UNLV. He also has received scholarship offers from Notre Dame and Washington. Barrett is a Scout.com and Rivals.com three-star prospect, and is ranked by Scout as the nation's No. 14 strong-side linebacker and by Rivals as No. 45 inside linebacker.
