Wranglers fall 1-0 in midnight game

Chris Curran scored 1:24 into the second period to lift the Ontario (Calif.) Reign to a 1-0 victory over Las Vegas in front of an announced crowd of 5,101 at the Orleans Arena in the Wranglers' sixth annual Midnight Holiday Roundup.

Ontario goalie Jeff Zatkoff stopped all 35 shots he faced to notch a shutout in the only midnight game in professional hockey.

The Wranglers (10-12-2), who outshot the Reign (14-9-2) 35 to 20, wasted a 1:24 two-man advantage midway through the third period as they fell to 2-2-2 in midnight games.

The lively crowd featured fans dressed in pajamas and bathrobes, and one diehard wore his Wranglers jersey over a Santa suit.
