Wranglers lose 5th straight game

The Wranglers fell behind 3-0 for the second straight night en route to a 5-2 loss to the Idaho Steelheads before a crowd of 4,207 at Orleans Arena on Friday night.

Las Vegas (8-15-3, 19 points), which has lost five straight, closed to 3-2 in the first period on goals by Jeff May and Geoff Paukovich, but was stoned by Pat Nagle (32 saves) the rest of the way.

Mitch Wahl had a goal and an assist for Idaho (15-9-4, 34), which netted three goals in less than 10 minutes in the first period.

Defenseman Greg Coburn had two assists for the Wranglers, who fell to 3-8-1 at home. The teams will meet again at 7:05 p.m. today at The Orleans.
