Wranglers stage comeback, but fall in overtime

Ray Sawada scored at 2:09 of overtime Friday night to give the Colorado Eagles (8-3-2) a 4-3 victory over the Wranglers (5-9-1), who scored three straight goals to erase an early 2-0 deficit at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo.

Local product Chris Francis scored on the power play midway through the third period to give Las Vegas the lead, but Colorado tied it less than three minutes later on a goal by Luke Fulghum.

Sawada added two assists for the Eagles, who outshot the Wranglers 41 to 20, including 4-0 in overtime.

Geoff Irwin (goal, assist) scored at 17:45 of the first for Las Vegas, 26 seconds after Trent Daavettila beat Travis Fullerton (37 saves).

Wranglers captain Geoff Paukovich scored his first goal of the season midway through the second to tie it 2-2.

Las Vegas is 2-2-1 in its last five following a 3-7-0 start.
