Wranglers top Thunder in shootout, 4-3
Eric Lampe scored in the sixth shootout round to give the Wranglers a 4-3 victory over the Stockton Thunder on Saturday at Orleans Arena.
Chris Francis scored his second goal of the game on a 5-on-3 power play midway through the third period to tie the score at 2 for Las Vegas (8-10-0-3), and Scott Campbell added a 5-on-4 goal less than a minute later to put the Wranglers on top.
The Thunder (13-5-2-2) answered with their own 5-on-3 goal with 6:51 to play to force overtime.
The Wranglers fell behind 2-0 in the shootout but evened the score on makes by Judd Blackwater and Andrew Sarauer.
The Wranglers next play at Colorado on Tuesday and Wednesday.
