Young, Centennial hold off Cheyenne
Adam Young scored 17 points Tuesday, and Centennial survived with a 67-65 victory over visiting Cheyenne in boys high school basketball.
Josh Hardy and Matt Holley each scored 13 for the Bulldogs, who led 54-45 entering the fourth quarter.
Elijah Johnson scored 13 to lead the Desert Shields, who went 10-for-22 from the free-throw line and missed a game-tying shot attempt in the final seconds.
• Legacy 51, Shadow Ridge 49 -- At Shadow Ridge, Sian Laine made one of two free throws with seven seconds left, and the Longhorns escaped with the victory.
Sam Johnson led Legacy with 16 points and nine rebounds. Tyler Marshall had 12 points for Shadow Ridge, and Tavis Brown and John McCoy each scored 10.
• Foothill 71, Green Valley 67 -- At Green Valley, Earl Jones scored 26 points, and the Falcons stayed in a three-way tie with Silverado and Liberty atop the Southeast Division.
Ben Green scored 14 and Marcus Hurtado 13 for Foothill (7-1 Southeast).
Jose Rodriguez led the Gators with 21 points.
• Palo Verde 78, Cimarron-Memorial 70 -- At Palo Verde, David Rawlinson had 20 points to lead a balanced attack for the Panthers.
Moses Morgan scored 19 and Aaron May 16 for Palo Verde.
Mike Cutright scored 34 points to lead the Spartans.
• Mojave 77, Arbor View 49 -- At Mojave, Anthony Marshall had 22 points, and the Rattlers opened a two-game lead in the Northwest Division.
Mojave is 8-0 in division play. Cheyenne (6-2) is second.
Kevin James had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Mojave, and Darian Norris and Nick Matthews each scored 15 for the Rattlers.
Brooks Robinson led the Aggies with 11 points.
• Del Sol 59, Tech 48 -- At Del Sol, Joe Maglaras scored 21 points, and the Dragons rallied past the Roadrunners.
Maurice Lawson scored 16 and Jeff Coon 10 for Del Sol, which outscored Tech 17-6 in the fourth quarter.
Ben Seibert led the Roadrunners with 14 points.
• Liberty 74, Coronado 60 -- At Liberty, Justin King had 27 points and nine rebounds as the Patriots beat the Cougars.
Milos Knezevic added 18 points for Liberty. Christian Hatch scored 23 for Coronado.
• Silverado 77, Basic 42 -- At Silverado, Wade Collie had 26 points and 10 rebounds as the Skyhawks breezed past the Wolves.
Joe Spero hit five 3-pointers and scored 15 points for Silverado. James Holmes had 17 points for Basic.
• Agassi Prep 44, Clark 42 -- At Clark, the Stars built a 44-37 lead and withstood a late rally by the Chargers.
Jakoby Whitehead led Agassi with 13 points, and teammate DeShawn Battle scored 12.
Isidro Garcia led Clark with 21 points.
• Pahrump Valley 59, Moapa Valley 58 -- At Overton, Darius Dolly's four-point play with five seconds left in overtime gave the Trojans the win.
Dolly scored 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as Pahrump rallied. Shilo Sandoval led the Pirates with 16 points.
• Faith Lutheran 80, The Meadows 40 -- At Faith Lutheran, Brett Lubbe had 13 points and 12 rebounds as the Crusaders rolled over the Mustangs.
John Chino led The Meadows with 17 points.
• Virgin Valley 56, Boulder City 50 -- At Boulder City, Teran Leavitt had 17 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Eagles.
Joey Western scored 18 for Boulder City, which led 24-21 at halftime.
• Henderson International 50, Indian Springs 33 -- At Indian Springs, Vinh Thai and Tommy Vogel each scored 14 points as the Wolverines defeated the Thunderbirds.
Trent Sargent led Indian Springs with nine points.
