Allen Leiker was named the Review-Journal's sports editor in October 2023. He started at the Review-Journal in November 1989 as the sports copy desk chief and was named assistant sports editor in August 1990. He works with reporters on story ideas and oversees production of the sports section. A native of Topeka, Kan., Leiker also worked as an editor at the Topeka Capital-Journal and a reporter at the Manhattan (Kan.) Mercury News.
