With the nation facing such a serious problem in COVID-19, now is not the time to play politics.

If a major corporation lays off people without pay but continually raises its room rates, don’t come to us with hat in hand. If you moved all your manufacturing jobs overseas because you could save a bundle, don’t come to us with hat in hand.
There are indeed legitimate questions about how Nevadans will respond to this unprecedented action, particularly if it drags on.
I just don’t know if virtually banning business and commerce — literally destroying Las Vegas; leaving millions unemployed; and potentially starting a Great Depression — was the right path for stopping this deadly virus.
Speaking of social distancing.
In my house, I have something called a “faucet” in the kitchen. The faucet has a knob thingy that I turn and water pours out.
Maybe instead of laying people off and closing Strip resorts, we could instead keep people employed by letting them work with the Clark County School District.

And now the airlines and casinos will want federal relief.
Federal, state agencies suspending various regulations.
