Lindo Michoacan, 7870 W. Tropical Parkway, plans to host its third annual Cinco de Mayo celebration beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Live music by Las Vegas latin band Gravedad Rock is scheduled from 4 to 10 p.m. Free giveways are planned, along with raffle drawings for a mountain bike, Patron golf bag, Brazilian Blowout, show tickets and more.

Cannery restaurants announce Mother’s Day specials

Waverly’s Steakhouse in the Cannery, 2121 E. Craig Road, plans to serve a Mother’s Day special of butter-poached lobster and truffle cream orzo on Sunday.

The special will have a 12-ounce lobster tail slow poached in herb butter, set atop lobster cream orzo and braised leeks and topped with pomme fritter.

The cost is $35. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Vino’s Ristorante plans to serve a Mother’s Day special of Rocky Mountain trout for $27.99. It will feature pan-seared Rocky Mountain trout stuffed with bay shrimp, mushrooms and artichokes and finished with a dill beurre blanc sauce and served with risotto.

Hours are from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The Cannery Row Buffet plans to serve a Mother’s Day menu from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., featuring breakfast specialties such as omelets made to order, apple crepes, waffles, French toast and cheese blintz, along with Mexican, Italian, Chinese and barbecue stations, as well as prime rib, maple-glazed ham, smoked gravlax, turkey, bamboo mahi mahi and more.

The cost is $15.99 for adults with a CAN Club card and $10.99 for children ages 3 to 7.

Also this week, Casa Cocina plans to mark Cinco de Mayo with $1 Casa Ritas and $1 shots of Patron on Thursday.

Wine Walks to raise funds
for New Vista Community

The Village Lake Las Vegas plans to host a Wine Walk from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday to raise funds for New Vista Community, a nonprofit group that provides equal opportunities and support for the intellectually challenged people of all ages.

Wine Walk will feature a variety of wines at 20 different tasting stations through the Village and live entertainment.

Another Wine Walk to benefit New Vista Community is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. May 21 at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Brio plans Mother’s Day brunch

Brio Tuscan Grille at Tivoli Village, 420 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 180, plans to serve a Mother’s Day brunch starting at 10 a.m. Sunday.

A Tuscany-influenced menu will feature selections ranging from $10.95 to $18.95, and the full dinner menu will be available all day. The brunch menu includes frittata al forno, white chocolate raspberry French toast and crab and shrimp crepes. The drink menu will feature Italian bellinis or Mama’s Mimosa, served with Moletto Prosecco and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Les Kincaid, UNLV announce
wine and cooking classes

Wine radio show host Les Kincaid and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas plan to present a series of wine and cooking classes from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on select dates in May.

Panera Bread donates funds
to Children’s Miracle Network

Panera Bread recently donated $18,704.70 to the Children’s’ Miracle Network through Panera Bread’s Operation 2Dough-Nation. The funds will be used to further the network’s mission of caring for children and families stricken by illness. The check was presented to the network at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson.

Operation Dough-Nation donates a portion of customer donations made in the Community Breadbox containers near the registers, which it matches with cash for distribution to local charities. At the end of the day, local cafes also donate unsold bread and baked goods to local hunger relief agencies through the company’s Day-End Dough-Nation program.

Buca di Beppo announces
Mother’s Day, dining specials

Buca di Beppo plans to open at 11 a.m. Sunday for Mother’s Day. The Mother’s Day menu will include the new Fritto Misto, which blends shrimp, calamari and pepperoncini coated in zesty breading and served in a colossal martini glass. The new red or white sangria will be available in 1-liter carafes.

Buca di Beppo is offering a Spring Features Menu for a limited time. Appetizers include cheesy bread Florentine and chopped antipasto salad. Entree selections include Parmesan-crusted tilapia served on a bed of sautéed spinach with fresh tomato bruschetta.

Fleming’s to host J. Lohr
winemaker dinner

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 8721 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to host a J. Lohr winemaker dinner at 6:30 p.m. May 13.

J. Lohr is a winery with sustainable growing practices. Steve Peck, the winemaker, will be on hand for the four-course dinner.

The menu is set to feature scallop ceviche, duck confit spinach salad, filet with smoked jalapeno blackberry sauce and pear and cranberry cobbler.

specials for mother’s Day

Café Siena in the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive, plans to serve a Mother’s Day dining special for $16.95 that includes a choice of soup or salad, entree choices of crab-stuffed chicken breast, seasoned rib-eye steak or Canton combo (shrimp, scallops and asparagus in black bean sauce) and dessert choices of tropical fruit tart or double fudge cake.

SC Prime Steakhouse and Bar plans to serve a Mother’s Day special for $49 that features soup or salad, entree choices of roasted beef tenderloin and broiled half lobster tail, veal Florentine or seabass and chocolate-dipped strawberry basket and peanut butter vanilla mousse and Grand Marnier crème anglaise for dessert.

The St. Tropez Buffet plans to serve a Mother’s Day buffet for $18.99 or $16.99 for B Connected cardholders (up to four guests per card).

Rampart Casino to serve
Mother’s Day specials

The Carmel Room inside the Rampart Casino, 221 N. Rampart Blvd., plans to serve a Mother’s Day brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

The menu will feature a pastry basket of muffins, cinnamon rolls and sticky pecan rolls with warm pastries and fruit compote of assorted melon ball and fresh berries with a hint of basil and Chambord. Entrees will include crab and asparagus omelet, crusted cinnamon swirled French toast, mushroom ravioli, lamb chops Carmel, petite steak and salmon. The dessert cart will have assorted French pastries.

The cost is $39 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

The Carmel Room also plans to serve a three-course dinner for Mother’s Day from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. It will have starter choices of seared scallop salad or rosemary-crusted goat cheese salad, entree choices of penne Florentine with garlic shrimp or steak frites, whole roasted beef tenderloin sliced to order with cherry and shallot reduction and crispy Battonnet potatoes. Dessert will be strawberries Romanoff, strawberries macerated in Grand Marnier and served with whipped cream and vanilla bean ice cream.

The Rampart Buffet plans to feature a special menu for Mother’s Day with brunch specialties served from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., including eggs Benedict, Sunrise lox scrambled eggs, omelets made to order, sausage, bacon, pecan waffles, cinnamon French toast and cheese blintz.

Other selections available from
9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. will be the salad bar, seafood on ice, soups, and Mother’s Day specialties of buttermilk fried chicken, tilapia vera cruz, rigatoni carbonara, chicken Parmesan, sage-stuffed pork loin, honey almond chicken and steak au poivre. Carving selections include glazed ham, roast turkey, prime rib and leg of lamb. A live action crepe station and extensive dessert menu are included. The cost is $16.99 per person.

Also during May, the Promenade Cafe plans to serve a taco hat salad for $6.99 24 hours a day.

Learn to roll sushi at Hachi

Hachi Modern Japanese, inside Red Rock Resort at 11011 W. Charleston Blvd., offers monthly sushi rolling classes. The next one is set for 6:30 p.m. May 19.

The two-hour class will offer each participant his or her own work area with all ingredients at arm’s length. The cost is $85 per person, plus tax.

Les Kincaid to debut new radio show

Les Kincaid plans to broadcast his new radio show “Les Kincaid’s Lifestyles Las Vegas” from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Each week guests will include celebrity chefs, cookbook authors, restaurateurs, food professionals, vintners, winemakers, wine professionals and Las Vegas entertainers. There will be three guests featured each week, with the live broadcast coming from P.J. Clarke’s in The Forum Shops at Caesars.

Listeners can tune in to KLAV 1230 AM or sorealradio.com (click “Station: Les Kincaid.”) Broadcasts will replay the following Mondays at noon on sorealradio.com.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse
to serve dining specials

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 8721 W. Charleston Blvd., is offering a Memorable Meal for Two for $125 per couple now through May 15. The three-course dinner has Chateaubriand and lobster en fuego, salad, side dishes and dessert.

A nightly prix fixe meal is $39.95 for three courses, with a chef-selected entree, choice of soup or salad and a choice of dessert.

A Mother’s Day brunch is planned from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Reservations are recommended.

Carl’s Jr. partners with March of Dimes, Las Vegas 51s for fundraisers

Carl’s Jr. locations across the Las Vegas Valley are collecting donations for the March of Dimes through May 23.

Any customer who donates $1 will receive a special cutout to sign and display, along with food coupons. Last year Carl’s Jr. raised $40,000 for the organization, which supports research, awareness programs, local hospitals and families affected by the outcomes of premature births.

Carl’s Jr. also is partnering with the Las Vegas 51s baseball team. While supplies last, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson locations are giving one ticket to a 51s game to customers for free, upon request, with the purchase of any large combo. The 51s also are selling a Family Four Pack with four game tickets, four Carl’s Jr. $4 food coupons and four 51s hats for $36.
