SommerBrau beer and seasonal menu
Gordon Biersch is introducing a Caribbean-inspired menu for the summer, available through July 31. The menu is designed to complement the SommerBrau beer.
SommerBrau is a Kolsch-style beer originating from Cologne, Germany.
Starters on the new menu include coconut shrimp, shrimp and lobster rolls and jerk chicken sliders. Entrees include lobster, crab and shrimp salad, blackened mahi mahi, blackened chicken linguini, the Jamaican Kobe burger, churrasco steak and jerk chicken tacos. Desserts include the Montego Bay banana split.
Also featured in the promotion is the Watermelon Splash cocktail, a blend of Barcardi Superior Rum and O3 Orange Liqueur. The non-alcoholic watermelon lemonade also is available.
Gordon Biersch in the Las Vegas Valley is at 750 S. Rampart Blvd., No. 16, in Boca Park (487-6463) and 3987 Paradise Road (312-5247).
Roy's Hawaiian Fusion to host
beer dinner today
Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine, 620 E. Flamingo Road, is scheduled to host a beer dinner featuring Indian Wells Brewing Co. at 6 p.m. today.
The menu features a first course of salad with lump crab and Spanish chorizo, paired with Silver Sun Pilsner; a second course of Marzenbier duck sausage paired with Marzen Madness; a third course of bock-braised pork osso bucco, paired with Lobotomy Bock; and a fourth course of Blackout goat's cheese cake, paired with Blackout Stout.

Memphis Championship Barbecue raising funds for Opportunity Village
Memphis Championship Barbecue, 2250 E. Warm Springs Road., is raising funds to benefit Opportunity Village. For a $2 to $10 donation, customers will receive a specially designed paper pig they can write their name on and place on the restaurant's walls.

Yappy Hour something to bark about
The Rumor Boutique Resort, 455 E. Harmon Ave., plans to host Yappy Hour for dog owners and their pooches from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and July 7.
Yappy Hour features special drinks and Yappatizers. Dog owners and their pets can mingle on the grassy courtyard area. Drink specials include Louis' Long Island, Dachshund Delight and Puppy Love. Water will be available in special doggie dishes for four-legged friends.
Yappatizers will include Kobe sliders, chicken and bacon quesadillas, Mac Styx, five-spice seared tuna, Thai chicken satay and the Mediterranean Plate, along with doggie treats to keep canine companions happy.
The event also is set to feature designer dog collars, couture dog clothing, chic dog beds and a dog massage therapist. A special contest is planned, with the winner receiving a free night stay at Rumor and dinner for two at Addiction. The dog bringing the most doggie friends wins.
Raising Cane's to share profits
with Soldiers and Families First
Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers plans to share profits from its Las Vegas Valley stores with Soldiers and Families First to buy care packages for deployed parents.
Raising Cane's plans to give 100 percent of its profits from Monday's sales to the organization. The families will be invited to Raising Cane's company picnic on Sept. 18 to assemble the packages alongside Raising Cane's crew members.

Brio Tuscan Grille introduces
extensive cocktail menu
Brio Tuscan Grille at Town Square Las Vegas, 6653 Las Vegas Blvd. South, recently debuted a new cocktail menu offering seasonal cocktails, signature and traditional drinks, wine by the glass, imported, craft and domestic beer and non-alcoholic beverages.
The 12 signature drinks range from $7 to $10 a glass and include Strawberry Basil Limonata, Raspberry Mojito, Baca Limon Martini, Il Tramonto Limoncello and Pineapple Gimlet Martini.
The restaurant also has a $2.95 Tuscan Tasters menu, available from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 p.m. to close Monday through Thursday in the bar. It offers portions of 10 appetizer classics such as shrimptini, pepper formaggio dip and spicy shrimp and eggplant.

at Lake Las Vegas July 14
Les Kincaid plans to bring his radio show "Les' Wines & Vines" to Lake Las Vegas' La Contessa yacht for a live broadcast on July 14.
The event will feature handcrafted appetizers, celebrity wines and a live broadcast while cruising around the 320-acre lake.

The Haulin Balls Food Truck is now open for business across the Las Vegas Valley, serving specialty meatballs.

Easter Seals in June
Sweet Tomatoes plans to support Easter Seals Southern Nevada by offering a free bag of cookies and a coupon toward each diner's next visit as a thank you for making a donation of $2 or more during June.
Over the last four years, Sweet Tomatoes has donated more than $119,000 to help Easter Seals locations across the country in its mission to help people with disabilities and other challenges.
The money raised will go directly to the Easter Seals services that assist nearly 6,000 Southern Nevada residents living with disabilities.

Strip House to mark National Rainier Cherry Day
Strip House at Planet Hollywood, 3667 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is partnering with the Northwest Cherries' Tree-to-Table campaign and plans to add several items featuring Rainier cherries to its menu for one day only, National Rainier Cherry Day, July 11.
Tree-to-Table pairs one restaurant from each state in the country with 30 pounds of Rainier cherries and tasks them with creating a dish that showcases the cherries.
Strip House plans to serve a Rainier cherry amuse-bouche (puree of watermelon flesh, Rainier cherries, key lime juice, lime zest, simple syrup and mint) and double-cut, grilled pork chops coated in a special Rainier cherry and roasted garlic glaze, accompanied by a Rainier cherry chutney made with pitted cherries, caramelized garlic and shallots, red wine vinegar and fresh thyme.

Bernard's Bistro, 15 Via Bel Canto in MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas, plans to offer an evening of first-class dining with a R.M.S. Titanic dinner event at 7 p.m. on Thursdays through the summer.
The multi-sensory production will spotlight the culinary mastery of French chef E. Bernard accompanied with sights, sounds, images and replicas of an era defined by elegance, fashion and fine food.
The menu will include items such as consummé olga, Titanic signature dish pear and Belgian endive watercress and Roquefort cheese in herb honey mustard dressing, champagne sorbet, poached salmon with mousseline caviar sauce topped with chives hollandaise and English cucumbers with asparagus and pommes vapeur.
Other main courses include braised filet mignon, lili with foie gras and lamb loin and rack of lamb with mint sauce.

The Las Vegas World Beer Fest is scheduled to be open every Thursday through Sunday for one year beginning Oct. 13.
The international Oktoberfest-style showcase of micro brews, stouts, ales and more is set to take place from noon to 11 p.m. at the southwest corner of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane behind Bally's.
The event also is set to feature live performances from Las Vegas-based and international bands, an above-ground swimming pool to keep patrons cool, an above-ground spa, fresh food and celebrities from the United States behind some of the taps.
