A president at war — so far so good
This visit was a good move by President Obama. He said a lot of good things from the part of his speech to the troops that I heard.
My bias is that modern Democrats (because they include the anti-war left as part of their a base) don't make good wartime presidents these days. Too timid to commit the resources to get the job done. Have a hard time coming to grips with enemy states who from an American security point of view need a regime change more than they need a diplomatic visit.
But, Obama's been reasonably good in his first year continuing the push in Iraq and putting the heat on enemies in Afghanistan.
So far so good on the war front, I think.
I wonder though -- do my liberal friends agree?
