October 11, 2008 - 9:00 pm
Actor Kevin Sorbo will host the first annual Kevin Sorbo Celebrity Golf Tournament today at DragonRidge Country Club located within MacDonald Highlands custom home planned community in Henderson. The event, featuring actors and athletes, will raise money for Sorbo's charity, A World Fit for Kids.
Limited player openings are available for $1,500 per person or $5,000 per foursome. Money raised during this tournament will go towards expanding the WFIT program to reach many more kids, including Las Vegas teens.
The charity is the leading nonprofit provider of after-school physical activity and youth leadership programs in California. Several singers, athletes and celebrities including Julius Erving "Dr. J", Jim McMahon, Meat Loaf, Christopher McDonald, Steve Azar, Patrick Warburton, and Ed "Too Tall" Jones are scheduled to play in the tournament.
The tournament will include a pairing party and dinner at Planet Hollywood tonight, featuring performances by Henry Cho, Gary Valentine, Javier Colon and Steve Azar. Tickets are available for the Saturday night dinner and awards event for $150 per person.
Sorbo is the official spokesperson and chair emeritus for WFIT and has been active in the organization for the past 11 years.
