After stopover in Texas, retiree lands at Sky Ridge

After spending a couple years deep in the heart of Texas, Rosa Bonilla moved to Las Vegas and bought a home at Sky Ridge, a Lennar neighborhood in the northwestern valley.

Bonilla's daughter, son and two granddaughters live in Las Vegas, so moving to Nevada made sense for the retired state of California employee. Also, Bonilla never much liked the high humidity in South Texas, where she lived near her sister in the small town of Katy outside of Houston.

For her retirement lifestyle in Southern Nevada, Rosa selected Lennar's two-story Indio floor plan with 1,475 square feet. The three-bedroom home, like the other Sky Ridge designs, features an open great room on the first floor. The Indio also includes 21/2 baths, a two-car garage and a loft.

"This may be the smallest of the floor plans at Sky Ridge," Bonilla said, "but it has everything I need. I can cook, entertain and visit with my guests all at the same time."

Single-family homes at Sky Ridge range from 1,475 to 1,909 square feet. Sky Ridge offers residents two parks and a paseo with walking trails, picnic areas and barbecues. Prices start in the $200,000s.

Every Sky Ridge home features a full General Electric stainless-steel kitchen appliance package, including refrigerator and built-in microwave.

To visit the community, exit U.S. Highway 95 at Durango Drive, turn left (west) going over the freeway and make the first right at Oso Blanca Road, heading north to Tee Pee Lane, then left at Tee Pee.

The Lennar Welcome Home Center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except Monday when it closes at 3 p.m. For more information, call 395-4569 or visit lennar.com.
